Review: Works right out of the box! - These are perfect! It’s so easy to connect everything to the controller board, the buttons light up nicely and everything works right out of the box. The joystick can be changed from 4 direction to 8 direction, there aren’t any instructions but i figured it out ok and im sure there are videos online of how to do it. I’m using these buttons and joysticks for a Recalbox arcade machine running on a pi 3 model b. You don’t need to worry about where you plug things in if you just configure the controller in Recalbox (or whatever you’re using this for). Just plug the joystick into its 5 pin plug and all the buttons on the left side of the board ( the side without red ports) and boom it works. Highly recommend for a cheap arcade build or just a button panel. Great value for money.
Review: GREAT Value - INSTALLED In Mayflash F300 & 8Bitdo N30 - I was looking to upgrade my Mayflash F300 and my wireless 8Bitdo N30 stock buttons to something better. Stock buttons were "mushy" and not that fun to play with. Stock joysticks felt a bit "loose" and not very clicky or precise. These Hikig buttons/sticks are NOT PERFECT, but they are an insane value for the money you pay. I feel like I'm 90% of the way to playing on an actual arcade machine from Japan. The buttons are very snappy and responsive and have a subtle click to them. They fire with very nice precision. The sticks are nice and stiff and clicky. The sticks are high-quality Sanwa JLF clones with a stiffer spring. These sticks are designed specifically to play 2D fighters and will feel unresponsive on games requiring directional switching like Shmups and Pacman... because the "engage distance", "deadzone", and "throw" are all rather large by design. I decided to make 4 modifications to make them more playable as a general arcade stick: 1. Oversized actuator (reduces deadzone, engage distance, and throw) 2. Shorter shaft (taken from Mayflash stick) 3. Lighter springs (taken from Mayflash stick) 4. Bat top (allows you to maintain a natural grip on the stick when its down in your lap) That being said, once I installed these I had a nice long arcade play session with some friends and I was IMMERSED. I stopped thinking about the controller in my lap and just zoned into the game. It felt like I was in a Japanese arcade. After installing the oversized actuators... I ABSOLUTELY LOVE playing with these sticks. They are a dream come true. I cannot recommend these enough FOR THE PRICE. Sure, I could have spent $100 for OEM parts. But these stick DO NOT feel cheap. You will get your money's worth and then some. INSTALLATION: If you want to install the buttons on a Mayflash, you have to separate the wires from the 3-pin connectors and insert the signal and ground wires only into the Molex connector on the USB board inside the Mayflash (you don't plug the LED wire into anything). Use a safety pin to pry the wires loose from the Molex connectors in both the Mayflash and the 3 pin connected to the Hikig button. To install the joystick, simply connect the 5-pin connector to the 5-pin socket on the USB board next to the four 2-pin slots that the stock joystick is plugged into. It's laborious and not recommended, but these parts will work!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Works on windows 10? but not in an emulator, else as regular PC games where I can map the keyboard?**
A: Hello
The kit can work on Winodws 10. If you want to use the joystick or push button works similar like a keyboard.
You can download a JoyToKey software. It will help you easily map the parts work as a keyboard.

**Q: How are the joysticks? I've heard a lot of inexpensive sets like this hav poor quality joysticks and they arent as responsive and sometimes miss moves**
A: I've never had them be unresponsive or miss moves, but a couple points:

1. These are 8-way controls, which can make games like Pac-Man slightly difficult, since Pac-Man only registers controls in four directions. In other words, if you're move is slightly off-target and you hit up-right, it won't register.

2. Others have commented that they feel loose, which is somewhat accurate. They are not as stiff as an arcade machine. I have resolved this by replacing the internal springs to four-pound test (available on Amazon). It's very easy, and I wouldn't install these without them.

3. These do make a clicking noise. I don't consider it a deal-breaker, I just wish they didn't.

Overall I'm very satisfied with these components. They're good quality and hold up well -- and they're a significant upgrade over the low-quality stock A1U parts.

**Q: will this work with xbox 360?**
A: It can, you just have to mod a controller with some other things that would be a long string of text if I list it all. Another thing you can do is replace an existing arcade fighting pad for the system and use it that way.

**Q: What is the yellow ring for?**
A: Yellow ring?,
