It does what a good lens hood should - it blocks out the glare outside in sunshine and inside where you have points of light. Note: ~ Being a smaller attachment - care must be used when attaching this hood to protect the threads, so this is not a quick on and off attachment, but I still like it. Also, the profile of this lens hood allows my camera to sit flat when set down without stressing the hood itself.
