It is not a safety issue putting your thumb in the path of the closing blade... because you should unlock it with your thumb, change your grip, move your index finger and close it with your thumb.1 of your hands can hang on to the boat the whole time. In my view that is a massive advancement in safety. I was not a fan of the Myerchin rigging knives with the locking mechanism on the lanyard loop.This design is superior. I have the big one and the small one. The big one is a bit larger than I would want but it easier to open and close than the crew knife with my Sasquatch hands. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Handy *by M***H on March 27, 2024* Super duper awesome knife.
