Is the fret board too wide for her hands? Would like a nice guitar without breaking the bank. No toys.** A: I played mine yesterday. I am an intermediate player and I have "Medium Man" hands.I teach small children "guitar basics" at my business as a enjoyable sideline.The neck is not the problem so much as the ability for your child to properly,(without much frustration),be ableto cord this guitar. It has fairly high action and is not easily fretted with small hands . A beautiful, well made guitar,but in my opinion a bit too difficult to fret for a beginner 6 yr. old. However,if you choose the LunaI would recommend you take it with your child to a pro and have a professional setup done for her...worth the effort I assure you. Take a look at the "Traveler" series guitars ....lower action and small necks. Fun to play ! **Q: Would it work to put elixir strings on this guitar? Has anyone tried them?** A: I have done it and it worked for me. Use light strings if possible IMO. Heavier strings may cause the neck to warp overtime just my opinion. **Q: Does this guitar have an adjustable truss rod?** A: Yes the truss rod is inside the body and they provide an allen/hex wrench to adjust it. It worked for me as I put medium gage strings on it. I spent a few months dreaming about a Baby Taylor or a Little Martin, both beyond my budget. When taking a look at alternatives I discovered Luna guitars and this beautiful Mahogany-like Safari Muse. The factory strings are useless, once you change them for proper strings you'll be able to fully appreciate the good sound of this guitar, marvelous for finger-picking. Amazing price-quality ratio.I initially purchased the guitar on the Luna website but they called up to say there would be a 3 weeks delay (even though it showed in stock) so I cancelled my order and got it from Amazon instead in 24 hours. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected *by P***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 May 2011* I have used a large guitar for many years and always thought that it was difficult to play. Having searched the web and Amazon I discovered the Luna Safari. I am very pleased with this instrument. At last I feel comfortable and can pluck the strings above the sound hole and not on the fingerr board as with the large one. The tone is good for a small instrument but obviously not as full as a larger one.
