That seems to work out just fine, but I don't think I'd rinse the filter itself. The "ribbed" part of the filter is probably made of some type of cardboard, and that won't like being saturated. **Q: Will this filter fit a bissel upright powerforce helix model 12b1?** A: I'm not sure Lisa. I googled "replacement filter for Bissel model #####" to find this was the one that fits mine. **Q: Mine has a larger black foamy filer that goes around these two. Does anyone know what its called, or do i actually need it?** A: I'm not sure about yours, but both the inner filter & foam cover needed replacement. For the cost, two sets of these filters were a bargain vs. what the parts house wanted to charge me. **Q: Will it fit 62450? They look the same.** A: Not sure but If it doesn’t specify here then I wouldn’t suggest getting it. I did and I regretted it. They look absolutely identical to many other vacuum filters except for size.
