It's a great outlet for stored energy because they have to move their arms constantly to move, turn, they have to jump to drive you have to steer,you swim, dive underwater, etc. But you don't do the same thing for too long and you always have a friendly character by your side helping you when you are stuck. My favorite feature is that if you need more friends to help you just clap your hands, My son was excited when Woody came up and said something like "Ok, what seems to be the problem here?" After the first couple of sessions, my 6 year old daughter had mastered the controls and is able to jump from adventure to adventure without much input or direction from me. It's the most intuitive Xbox game I have played. One of the subtle benefits is that the children are cued into the fact that each adventure is a fantasy; very helpful for adults who're trying to separate out stories from reality. We play it together - it's challenging enough to keep adults entertained; the other night, I had a 64 yo grand dad jump in (literally) and get into his first Xbox game ever. He was fascinated. It's kept us active through the frozen days - and we've not come close to exhausting all the adventures. Probably only a fifth or less of the way in. (We've also been challenged enough to play an adventure over and over, and found twists each time.)
