Review: Most Impressive - A picture is worth a thousand words. Having a picture showing that it is "VGA to HDMI" and NOT "HDMI to VGA" clarifies in ANY language which way this product does work. Wish more people used pictures along with directions !!! And It Does Very Well as Advertised. Thank you very much. After running 24/7 for several months, this product died. It is noted that it runs "HOT" when constantly used, as I needed to do with it. Don't get me wrong, my application can be considered "extreme" running it hard for so long. I like the aluminum case, and highly recommend the MFR consider modifying the case design to better radiate the heat, as well as part of the internal case press against the "chip" to act as a better heatsink to effectively dissipate the generated heat. Yes, I would still consider buying it for "normal" use, and I will most likely do so, again. Very good product, I still give it 5 stars !!! .
Review: It Works if you power it with the USB cable - The VGA to HDMI adapter works fine when you power it with the USB cable. We used it to go from and old Document Camera (ELMO) to a large TV that we were using as a monitor. It was a replacement for an older adapter that failed. This adapter gives better resolution.

**Q: I just purchased this product and after using it for 15 min it gets very hot. usb is attached for power hdmi connection box gets hot. is this normal?**

**Q: can i plug my firestick into this which plug into my vga port projector?**
A: I am no expert but the product you are considering is designed to take a VGA signal as in input and transform that signal into an HDMI signal as an output.  If I understand your planned use of the product, you want to take an HDMI signal from the FireSick and transfer it to the VGA adapter as an output to use with your projector.  Therefore, this product would not work the way you plan to use it.

**Q: I am getting no sound through the device, is there a certian hdmi cable i meed to use?**
A: It is unfortunate that the device, at least in my case, did not come with a user manual. At any rate, there are two cables you need to connect. The first is a USB cable to provide power to the device. The second is an audio cable which you must connect between the device and the audio output of your computer. Without this audio cable you will not get any sound.

**Q: Will this work to connect apple tv to a plasma tv that has vga port?  (the only hdmi port on the tv is being used for the cable box.)**
A: No. The graphic shows that this will only work from a PC side VGA port converting to a monitor side HDMI port. This is a one-way converter.

This adapter does perform its function as designed. I'm not sure if anything can be done to improve the resolution, but it's not as good as a direct VGA connection. It's acceptable, because it does work, and not too pricey. It does require USB power, and the provided USB cable is pretty short (less than a foot), so keep that in mind when ordering. I suppose if you needed it, you can get a USB extension for it. It also comes with an audio connection cable, for those displays with audio output.. Overall, I needed it, and it works for my needs, so I'm not disappointed. I would give it 5 stars if the resolution was better.
