The opening is approximately 2.5 inches** A: It should. It has 2" pipe threads. The thread size for the hole on a USGI, or Blitz, or MFC, or standard 15 gallon drum, or standard 30 gallon drum, or standard 55 gallon drum is 2" NPT. 2" pipe is designated by the nominal inside deminsions of the pipe which would make the opening diameter of the can a little less than 2.5" **Q: Will this fit on the old Usmc gas can** A: I put it on an army surplus Jerry can and it is great. A whole lot less spillage than before. **Q: Wii this fit a newer Crown Automotive 5.5 gallon Jerry can?** A: It should fit. ## Frequently Bought Together - EZ-POUR® Jerry Can Adapter - Update Your Jerry Cans with EZ-POUR®! - EZ-POUR Gas Can Spout Replacement – Multi-Use For Deluxe Gas Cans and Water Jugs (Pack of 1) - 1, 2, 5 Gallon HI-FLO System with Extension, Flame Arrestor, Flexible Gas Can Nozzle for Jerry Cans - Solid Base Replacement Gas Can Cap - Yellow Coarse Thread Cap to Prevent Fuel Leakage (Pack of 2) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/10583010-jerry-can-adapter-fits-2-1-4-in-jug-openings](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/10583010-jerry-can-adapter-fits-2-1-4-in-jug-openings) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-25*
