A: Hello, Thanks for the question! First Honey Sterile Ointment is made in New Zealand. MGO 400 or 12+

**Q: What is the umf or mgo rating of the honey in this product?**
A: Our honey undergoes independent quality testing in an ISO17025 accredited laboratory to ensure quality, purity, and safety. Batches are collected and identified for Manuka Honey’s medicinal trilogy of compounds - leptosperin, dihydroxyacetone (DHA) and methylglyoxal (MGO). A minimum MGO 360+ (NPA 12+) is required to meet medical grade standards. First Honey was not set up to sell food grade honey; we specialize in wound care and first aid and require medical grade Manuka honey which must pass much more stringent testing and filtering to pass ISO and FDA standards for wound application. I hope this helps.

**Q: Is this as effective as using Manuka honey from the bottle?**
A: It is safer. Medical grade honey requires more stringent testing than food grade and sterilization to ensure it's free of contaminants and suitable for use in wound care. Manuka honey from the jar is food grade but not medical grade, which means it often contains botulism toxin and other contaminants which may be safe to consume or apply to unbroken skin but not open wounds.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ You get what you pay for!

This stuff is amazing! I had a second degree burn on my foot and used this. You can’t even tell it was burned. I also used it on a nasty cut I got on my finger from a grater (hurt like h***, don’t recommend). It was almost fully healed by day two. Lastly, I used it on a dry patch of skin that I just couldn’t get to go away. I tried all kinds of moisturizers and it just kept itching and just didn’t seem to break the dry skin barrier. I decided to try it as a last ditch effort before going to the dermatologist. Once again, by day two it was pretty much gone. The cons? Yes, it is sticky but what else would you expect from a “honey” based salve. And, yes, it is pricey BUT it works! Who wouldn’t want to pay double for something that actually works than half price for something that doesn’t. As for the amount; a little goes a long way! I don’t anticipate using the whole thing within the next year and would want a fresh tube within the next 2 years. With that being said, I think the amount is perfect. Word from the wise, ditch the Neosporin (neomycin) and give this stuff a try. You won’t regret it!
