We have used it several times now to backpack with our dog. It took him a little getting used to at first, but now he walks right in when I open it up for him and he snuggles down in the bag to stay warm and comfy through the night. I give only four stars because it is a little heavy and does not pack down quite as small as I would like for a backpacking sleeping bag, but I was unable to find anything that was made out of down at the time. For comparison, I use a Western Mountaineering sleeping bag that packs up the same size as the doggie sleeping bag and weighs about the same. Until someone makes a great down, ultralight sleeping bag for doggies, this is probably the best product you will find. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Compresses nicely for backpacking *by D***E on Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2019* I purchased the large size Outback Dreamer for my two Yorkies so they would be warm when we went backpacking. The Outback Dreamer compressed small enough to fit in my pack, both of my dogs measure 16" length so they both snuggled inside the bag with room to move around. So glad I didn't purchase the medium size, it just would've been too small for them. The open flap design was nice because it closes to keep the dogs warm inside. The design is solid, the stuffing material is a bit thin and wish they would use better insulating material otherwise I would've rated this product 5 stars. The bag is best used for cool spring or fall nights... definitely not winter where temps fall down past 30 degrees. Overall i'm pleased with the Outback Dreamer ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not insulated well *by J***A on Reviewed in the United States on June 25, 2019* I bought a size small bag for my dachshund, who is 15lbs. It's a bit small for her (she has to be curled up to fit in it - no stretching out for her!), but she seems to like it. I thought that it would be insulated, but I suppose that was my mistake. The inside of it has a reflective silver lining, almost similar to a bivvy sack. I'm not entirely convinced of how warm this thing is - we spent a couple of nights camping in the low 40s and I stuck her inside of this and then put the entire thing inside the bottom of my sleeping bag to keep her warm. I don't know that this would cut it just on it's own, unfortunately.For the cost, I almost wish that I had gone with the Dog Helios instead - it's more sleeping bag-like than this one, and looks like it'd fit her better.I will say that it's pretty durable - the material is thick and construction is good.
