Manufactured from chrome molybdenum steel, will easily bite into nuts and bolts which are soft by comparison. Popular for removing certain types of locking alloy wheel nut where the key has been lost or damaged. 1/2" Square Drive. Will fit and 1/2" ratchet or bar. To use, apply forward pressure and gently turn the socket backwards until it starts to bite in and grip the nut/bolt to be removed. Maintain forward pressure at all times. Review: I needed 20mm remover for McGard locking wheel bolts - worked brilliantly! - This is the only set with a 20mm remover which fits McGard locking wheel bolts exactly. Knock on with a heavy hammer and be sure to use some penetrating oil first. You will need a big vice to hold the removed bolt to unscrew the remover. Set of bolts removed in 10 minutes. Brilliant! Review: You have to be quite brutal hammering these on but did the job perfectly - My Audi Q3 rear nearside locking wheel bolt was seized on and it was beginning to damage the bolt head. I realised this in time and loosened the other three before continuing to attempt removing it. After a few more goes realised that the locking wheel bolt head was not going to be reusable even if I could remove it. I then did some research on the internet which led me eventually to this wheel lock nut removal kit. Once ordered it arrived on time, as shown and as described. From my research I had worked out that before I could use the tool I would have to remove the spinning outer ring on the stuck bolt. once I had done this I selected the correct size removal tool from the kit placed it carefully on the nut and using a hammer tapped it on. Once I thought it was secure enough to attach my breaker bar I did so and began to apply pressure to unscrew the stuck bolt. The tool has a left handed thread which is supposed to turn and gradually tighten on the bolt until it undoes it. Unfortunately on my first attempt the tool would not tighten as expected. I then started again by not just tapping the tool onto the stuck bolt but hammered it on as hard as I dare. I then reattached my breaker bar. Once I applied some pressure I soon began to feel the tool biting into the bolt head and after about only a quarter of a turn I felt a sort of crack as it suddenly turned the bolt loose. Of course my feelings were mainly relief but also what a brilliant tool! Really very happy! Great tool if used correctly. Recommended. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does the Job - just be careful *by H***P on 10 March 2025* Bought this to get four locking wheel nuts off my Jaguar XF as I had lost the locking wheel nut socket. Noted that some people complained that the sockets cracked or broke. First wheel nut came off really easy, second wheel a little harder and third one came off slightly harder again. I was unable to get a good grip on the fourth wheel nut at which point the 23mm socket cracked. Of course by this stage I found the locking wheel nut.....Aaaargh In hindsight it might have been better to use a block of wood to hit the socket into nut.
