Went with Ethernet connection instead since this cable couldn't solve the problem. Kept it in hopes that I could use it for something else. Today plugged it into the back of my monitor to power my soundbar. Can hear a lot of distortion and crackling. Tossed it in the trash. Don't feel bad about losing $5 on it, a lesson well learned.
