My Black and Decker electric lawnmower stopped working and the problem was a part that cost only a few dollars. The retailer was wanting me to send the electric lawnmower to a service center for a fee of $50+. My warranty expired and so, the cost was out of pocket even though it was a common problem for the Black and Decker lawnmower to quit due to the plastic rectifier wearing out.Parts Express sells metal rectifiers. Needless to say because it wasn't his, he didn't take it easy. He ended up screwing the mower up to where it blew twenty amp breakers as soon as it turned on. I got online and learned it was probably a bad rectifier. I took it out and tested it with my multimeter and determined it was the full wave rectifier that was bad. Ordered it, put a little heat sink paste on it, screwed it down, hooked the wires and the mower ran like new.
