Remove the bar and screw in the screws with the tape still behind the cups if you aren’t concerned about the adhesive on your frame. If you are concerned, use a pencil to mark the cup locations. The bar is heavy and sturdy. The logo on the hand cushions came off immediately, but who cares? The hand cushions wrap around and have a seam which is fastened with Velcro. This wasn’t what I was expecting, especially since the seam is quite large, but it isn’t difficult to position the cushions so the seam isn’t in your way. And the removable function of the cushions is necessary because they have a non slip coating on the inside - meaning they can only be repositioned by peeling off the Velcro and redoing it. I think the very good non slip feature is worth a large seam. The build quality seems really good which is the most important thing in my opinion. I live in a rental property and do not want to damage anything.** A: You're actually better off using a bar that screws into the door frame, as opposed to a purely pressure mounted bar. The bars that use gravity and rest on the outside of the door frame will leave indentations, as will pressure mounted bars that expand within the door way. Screw holes, however, are easily filled and painted over, making it a pretty non-damaging mounting technique. **Q: can this actually fit a 35 inch door?** A: Yes it can. I currently have mine in a 30 inch doorway, but I have also had it in a 36 inch doorway as well. **Q: is it easy to setup and put away quickly** A: super quick and easy!! **Q: What are the exact dimensions of the doorframe brackets and the position of the holes for the screws? My doorframe has some obtrusive molding...** A: The bar will open to 39 inches. Depending on your weight ( I weigh 165 lbs) I did not use the door frame brackets. As a rule apartment buildings have metal door frames and they are more than than strong enough to hold my weight. If your door frames are wood you must use the mounting brackets. Door molding is placed against the wooden 2 x 4 in framing. Use screws long enough to go through the molding and into the 2" x 4" frame Mount your bracket as high on the door frame as you can allowing room for hands to encircle the bar. If your door frame configuration is unusual you may need to use wood shims to make the mounting area flat. You can run the screws through the shims into the door frame when mountng the brackets. Be sure that you place the bar so that your hand grip rotation works to tighten the bar, not loosen. I weigh 170 lb. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sturdy but hard to grip *by S***M on February 21, 2024* Installing the pull-up bar was quick and easy, I really like the mounting cups which prevent the bar from slipping down at all. I keep mine up most of the time but occasionally take it down if it becomes an obstruction, and both putting it in the cups and taking it out of the cups is fast and simple. So far I haven't had it try to twist loose like some reviews have stated, I don't know if that's a difference in form or just specific units. My main complaint is that the foam padding is thick and uneven due to the overlap. A small section is over half an inch thick that then drops off to a quarter inch, and I can't find a comfortable spot for that to fit in my hands. I tried doing pullups on the bare bar, and despite the slick surface, I found them much easier to do without the padding because my grip was more consistent. Overall a good bar and I was happy that it let me continue my workouts.
