Branson 200 - works perfectly - suitable power for jewelry
I bought this model for my hunny so she can clean her jewelry to the level that a jeweler does. Her rings and other jewelry come out looking, literally, sparkling brand new after just 5-10 minutes in this cleaner. I have used many brands of ultrasonic cleaners at work for over 30 years and have found the Branson brand to be reliable and robust, which is why I sought out this one. It is powerful enough to get the toughest dirt out of all the 'nooks and crannies'. Use a gentle surfactant for best results - liquid dish soap works well. Be sure to fill the tank up with water to the fill-line on the tank first, then add a dash of liquid soap or other jewelry cleaner - this prevents sudsing that could fool you about where the level is. It is important to keep the tank filled to the appropriate level for longevity of the ultrasonic transducer. This unit's transducer is on the left side of the tank, so the action is strongest on the left, weakest on the right - obviously, put delicate or very old pieces on the right for safety. It has an auto timer that shuts the unit off after ~5 minutes - you can override it but I don't recommend that unless you are using this to clean small, tough mechanical parts. Use the included plastic basket to keep your jewelry off the bottom - this prevents scratches! If you need to use multiple cleaning cycles on extra-dirty rings, be careful - the cleaning solution heats up from the wave action and can get very hot after many cycles - and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that this will expand metal, potentially loosening gems to the point of falling out. Don't fail to dump the solution when it gets dirty - it reduces cleaning action - keep it clean. Amazon's price was the lowest I could find from reputable sellers and they packed it well for shipping. Overall I am extremely happy with this purchase! =:o)

Lasts Forever
Great ultrasonic cleaner. Had one of these that I used for over 10 years. Always did a great job. Replaced it with the same model.

Good size, good looking, powerful, doesn't use too much fluid
As usual, I agonized over which product to buy with so many choices and so many reviews. You can go from $25 to $600 in this category.I work in research and have used Branson ultrasonic cleaners for over 30 years, not because I bought them, but because that was what was almost always in the lab. Their professional cleaners are the standard. At the end of the day, I settled on this one as a compromise between the fancy-schmancy $350 cleaner with bells and whistles and advanced cycles, but it was $350, and it was large with a lab-feel and footprint, lots of stainless steel and lots of cleaner volume. I didn't want a $35 model because I was pretty sure they would not be durable. This little unit is small, attractive, only uses a small volume of fluid, and really works. My wife cleaned a few pieces using iSonic jewelry cleaning concentrated solution, and she was shocked at how much dirt and crud ended up in the solution and how clean the pieces ended up.Of course I can't say anything about durability yet, but the unit is small, attractive, powerful, doesn't use much fluid, and looks like a winner.

good product, and cleans well...wish there was a manual timer, though.
I bought this to clean the tips of my technical pens, and it does a good job. However, there is a built in 5 minute timer, which is just too short- per the maker's own instructions you're supposed to let the water/cleaning fluid be zapped for around that long to get the larger air bubbles removed, before you even start cleaning your items. With the pen tips, at least, it will take 20 or so minutes for some to clean out; you have to keep pressing the start button at 5 minute intervals until your items have become clean to your liking. That being said the appliance works well and construction is solid.

Professional quality
The Branson 200 ultrasonic cleaner seems to be made of high quality parts. With luck, the unit will last a lifetime. Unlike most consumer grade cleaners which operate at 42 khz, this one operates at a higher 46 khz according to the label on the unit.I bought the cleaner to clean my retainers. Dentists seem to recommend avoiding brushing your retainer with your toothbrush, and especially to avoid using toothpaste as brushing will leave scratches for bacteria to live in. Also avoid chemicals such as mouthwash, hydrogen peroxide, and vinegar (except for short periods when your retainer is very ditry). My morning routine is to clean the retainers for 5 minutes, flip them over, and clean them again for 5 minutes. The water is warm afterwards from the ultrasonic cleaner. Then I soak my retainers in a cup of water until the evening when I put them on again.

These ultrasonic cleaners work
Cant comment on this brand too much because Ive never owned any other brands besides this one, but I can say the Branson sure did clean the green gunk off my eye glasses! What makes this build up on metal that touches the skin is beyond me. My glasses are of expensive titanium metal too. Anyway, just wanted to let people know it made my frames look like, I mean JUST like new. It even cleaned between the tiny screw threads, you know the screws that hold the lenses in, those are almost micro in size, and you could also again read the dimension numbers that are laser burned into the frame and legs. This was all with just Dawn dish soap and distilled water.

Not worth the money
I have had two of these before. The first one was great and lasted a very long time. Second was also great, very well made, Knut did not last as long. My husband bought the third one as a gift. Same price. It is a lot smaller and very cheaply made. When you try to open it the lid sticks to the basket causing the solution to splash everywhere. Very disappointed
