Although, it is made with thin chrome plated metal and a zinc rod that operates the doors. One star off for the zinc rod that is a weak point in the razor. The head has the same flat angle as the Schick Krona with novel scalloped doors, which expose a lot of the blade edge. It is an aggressive razor that will give you a close shave. But, be advised, one should prep well and shave carefully to avoid skin irritation and unnecessary blood letting. Additionally, to extend the life of the razor, dry it thoroughly after each shave (take care to get all the water out of the hollow handle), and place a drop of light machine oil down the handle occasionally (to keep the zinc rod from corroding). The enclosed blades from Ying JiLi and Mingshi are wickedly sharp, and good for any number of shaves dependent on your beard. I have a medium beard; each blade has given me three close shaves so far and I'm still using them. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great razor, for a great price. *by R***D on Reviewed in the United States on July 8, 2015* Now I have been using Gillette Fusion Razors since they come on the market several years ago, and prior to that I had used Gillette Mock 3 razor since in started saving at 16.I have always uses Gillette products because Gillette send me a starters kit for my 16th birthday. I come love Gillette products, but since the price of Gillette razors blades for Fusion are about $20 at Dollars General (Which is the chippest price I can find), I felt the price wasn't worth the product I was getting.I began to look at other razors companies but based on the design of the razors I know they would not work the same way of do the job like Gillette Fusion. Since I'm and African American razor burns are quite common for me and I found that the Fusion didn't case any burns as long as I waited 5 days in between saves.I then remembered that my grandfather used a Gillette safety razor up until about 5 years before his death and he saved everyday without any razor burns, so I decided to order a safety razor.Since this was my first time getting a safety razor I decided that it would be best to buy a chipper one based on the Original Gillette Buterfly Safety Razor. So I purchased this razor.I was a bit concerned at first due to the sort handle and lite weight, but I most say I was pleasantly surprise at the quality and effectiveness of the razor.What would taken me and hour and a half to save my head and face on my Gillette Fusion, now takes me 20 minutes to save and I get the nice close clean smooth save I like.At first it's a little tricky to get use too, I nicked myself a few times, but afterword I have no problem. I don't have to wait a minimum of 5 days before I can save again. Which I like because I like to keep a smooth head, for the ladies to rub!I've had the razor for over a month now and I couldn't be happier with the razor. I have not had to change the blade yet, and I'm using the Chinese blades that came with the razor.No I know since this has in movable parts it will need oiled, but since it's basically the Gillette Buterfly Safety Razor, all that is needed is a few drops of oil down the center hole in the top part of the razor. I've read that people complained about it sticking while trying to open the razor butterfly arms, but a few grops of oil once a month should keep it from sticking.Since it is lite weight, I believe if dropped it will break, but for a razor a this price it's nothing to get to worked up about. I live in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and it took about a week and a half to get her from China.No as far as saving cream, I use Queen Helene coco butter hand and body lotion. I find that it works the best while saving my head. As for my face I use woman's saving creams. I know it's suggested that you us saving soap with a safety razor, but I have had no problems using what I have been using for the last 5 years.I have only used one of the sample razor blades with is the Jianyu (with I'm happy with and has not had to change yet), but I plan to use all three samples the flying eagle and YingJili. The set also comes with 5 razors blades made by the manufacturer of the razors Ming Shi blades, but I will update with my opinion about the quality of the blades when I use them.My opinion is if this is your first time using a safety razor this Mingshi is a good buy. I will never go back to multiple blades razors again.
