These units use POE and a poorly terminated LAN cable will cause the remote unit not to work. No power connections are needed at the remote side. Our LAN runs are between 75’ and 100’. Picture quality is very good. Make sure the transmitter unit has good ventilation. I had it in a rack on top of another unit and I think it was over heating. I moved the transmitter unit and that solved the problem of glitches on the TV. Would definitely recommend this product as a good HDMI extender.
