I had originally thought it was a bad wiring job or a bad ground job. After rewiring it to my trolling motor battery and getting the same results I realized it was a bad unit. Something obviously has to be loosely connected inside the unit. The radio works fine so I now run my mp3 player through an FM modulator. Their return policy is so bad it would not be worth it to ship it back and get a "partial" refund, plus the headache of taking it out an putting a new unit in, so I am keeping it until I get totally fed up with this player.
