That extra width makes it safer when you need to shift the position of your feet whilst reaching up to do overhead work. For me, doing DIY jobs in the house, including some really heavy jobs at times, this platform is adequately strong and stable enough to feel fully reassuring. If you are a professional builder then you might want to pay several times the price for something supposedly more heavy-duty, but as I say – I find this one ideal for my use.
