Wow What a Deal!
If you need a good little fax machine, this IS the one! easy to use, fast set up and no hassles. The first thing that grabs you about this little fax machine is the price. Then you read the reviews and maybe think twice about ordering.... but I think some of the reviews about this model are unfair.I mean really, It has everything you could want for the price! Sure the sound of the phone is a little tiny bit fuzzy, but that's it! If your gonna spend a lot of time on the phone, BUY a good phone! but if your gonna use this little sucker for faxing...It's a great deal! The second thing that grabs you is the size...Perfect for a busy desktop, just the right size to tuck away in a corner or on a small phone stand. The power cord is built right in, no bulky a/c adapter to lose or block up other plugs in outlets. The third thing that's the kicker is the design, its a little flashy for its price, looks good and functions extremely well. You won't believe all the functions! It has everything the big huge ones have in a tiny package, it's even smaller than it looks!Grab this deal, you won't be sorry, and the Refills for it are only $8.99 FOR 2!! (off brand mind you, but still) thats 300 pages of breezy carefree faxing! what a deal! Works perfectly as both a fax and copy machine, can use your existing phone number.
I can't believe how easy this is to use. For a basic fax you insert paper(s), type the number, and push Start Fax. It does the rest on its own and prints a verification page afterwards. It only took maybe 10 minutes to set up, and that's with reading the manual. Its footprint is small, about 12"Wide x 8"Deep so it fits on a counter or desk top easily. I have it right next to my cordless phone's base unit and dsl modem.Because my phone has an answering machine built in I had to disconnect the phone from the wall jack and insert it into the fax machine so it knew to answer calls. When the answering machine picks up, it "listens" for a fax tone and if it hears one, it'll automatically receive, then print, the fax. If it doesn't hear one, it does nothing. Handy for when I get a fax if I'm not home! The warranty registration doubles as a test fax, which was wonderful because I had no way to really test it otherwise.I tested the copy function and it copied pretty quickly, took only seconds for a fully printed sheet. The only issue I have, which isn't the machine's fault, is when i send double sided documents I have to be really quick to flip it over as soon as it processes the first side or wait and put it as the last page. That could be really confusing for the receiver, I imagine.I don't have a separate line for the fax, I use my own landline (house) number and it works just fine, as I don't expect to use it that often. I also have a cordless phone so I turned the ringer off on the machine's handset but it rings loudly if turned up and has an amplify feature which would be wonderful for hearing impaired people.Note: I noticed while it's receiving a fax it interferes with the DSL for a some seconds.

Great little small business fax and really nice price
This is an awesome little fax machine and at under $35, it's a great deal. As I am blind, a friend helped me set it up and, after reading the directions, she was able to send our first fax in about 30 minutes. I use MagicJack and was worried that the machine wouldn't work with it but it works just fine. Set up was pretty easy and the directions were very good, explaining everything in detail. We were able to enter time and date, name of the company and return phone number without any issues once we figured out (by reading the directions) how to put a space between the company title name. Brother has a test number that you can send your very first fax to and it will return immediately with a verification. Make sure there is paper in the paper tray/holdr for the return to print out the verification. We did not try the aux phone port since I will not be using this device with my phone system. In my case, I will simply unplug the unit when it's not in use as I rarely, if ever, need to receive a fax. When I do need to send one, I just unplug my main phone and plug the fax cord into the MagicJack and continue with the process. I sent five pages to a customer and they reported that the fax came out fine. I have not tried the copy option and already have a printer/copier so probably will not need the copier function. For a small business or someone who just doesn't want to drive to a store and pay per page, this is a great little piece of equipment for a great price. Finally, I posted a question about attaching this to my MagicJack system on the Amazon questions section and a Brother customer service agent emailed me within an hour with specific instructions. That's nice too.
