The XLR side is male, so the cable would need a female connector, and the 1/4" / TRS / TS / Phone side is female, so you would need a cable with a male plug for this side. There's also a pass-through 1/4" jack wired in parallel with the adjacent 1/4" jack, as can be seen in the pictures.I'd buy this if... electrical noise was not an issue. The unit I got allows excessive electrical noise in anytime it's placed near other equipment, so it has to sit a foot or two away in an open space. I'm not very happy with the design of the unit in that respect, but other than that it's working well for me and is inexpensive. **Q: What's the frequency respond range? is it comparable to prodi and jdi?** A: Yes full Hz response from 20 to 20,000 hz **Q: How much does it weight?** A: Not more than a pound or two, but really... save yourself the headache and go with 2 LiveWires.
