They're expensive, but compared the poor quality of other briquettes, they're almost worth the price. I've had them for over a year now and I've cleaned them a couple times now. They aren't fragile, they don't crumble and they work. They spread the heat in my gas grill evenly, they burn off the grease and grime from cooking and they just plain old work. Some other briquettes that I've tried crumbled or cracked, but these do not do that. They will serve their purpose and last, like a good product should. The quantity in the box wasn't enough to cover my entire grill's grates, so I will be ordering more soon. Review: Works as good as the originals. - Great ceramic briquettes. I researched issues and cleaned all holes in gas pipes etc and then read a comment about conditions of the briquettes. I thought, even though these are pricey, compared to others, I'd try them before purchasing a new grill. Arrived today and I realized I hadn't had enough briquettes in my grill (it's several years old) let alone the ones I had were crumbling. Last time I used the grill I knew there was an issue as I could run my hand across the grate and it wasn't that hot. Well, let me tell you, these briquettes are the best and now the base is fully covered w/ the briquettes and there is no way I can put my hand across them like previously as it's HOT. I can't wait to grill a steak! Highly recommend.
