It's a wonderful little work-horse. The only drawback is scanning large documents. The feed tray will take about 10-15 pages at a time. But you can easily add batches of that amount until done with large documents. It won't close out the scan until you tell it you're done. **Q: What different format(s) can you scan to? (PDF, Readable PDF, JPG, TIFF, etc.)** A: Yes you can use this for all those formats. **Q: Is this scanner twain compatible?** A: Yes this scanner is TWAIN compatible. There were not any reviews on Amazon or HP. I purchased it based on HP name and because it was reasonably priced. I had it installed and had the 10 or 12 documents on my desk scanned and electronically filed in less than an hour. The Nuance software is simple and lets me make and organize the files the way that I want.Now I need to roll up my sleeves and start scanning some of my older documents so that I can get rid of my paper files. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Happy scanner *by T***E on March 27, 2014* Very happy with my new scanner. Small footprint, easy set-up for an lightweight computer user. I was happy to have the Readiris software included. Took a bit of a effort to learn the best use of the software. Only problem was on the paper being parked after it was scanned. This occurred when I was scanning large quantities at or near the rated capacity of 50 sheets. Paper would drop off the shelf, push others off, or insert themselves out of order. I just added a small stand, removed the paper holder for scanned documents and put a regular paper tray to catch the documents, and wallah! problem solved and no longer requiring the operator (me) to attend. Really handy device and doin' the job.
