I have a bad knee and applied it twice a day. It took a good 3-4 weeks before I noticed a difference. This product is an off-white cream that rubs in well and is easy to use. It does have a slight camphor smell that dissapates right away. I don't worry about applying this and putting on pants that might retain the smell. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars has nothing to do with the product. The jar comes without an outer wrapper (good for less waste), however, the barcode label that was applied for inventory was put right over the ingredient list.
