They are ruining my lawn with their piles of castings.** A: What you are seeing are ant mounds. Earthworms do not leave mounds of castings. The casting are wonderful for lawns and plants. The worms break down organic matter into a form of nutrients your plants and lawn can take up more easily. DON'T kill the worms. To get rid of ants, use borax and sugar water on cotton balls placed by mounds.
