It can be used to finish acrylic and watercolor paintings. Just rub it on with a soft cloth to a satin sheen. The watercolor paintings need to be mounted on a sturdy support. I use cradled wood panels. They can then be displayed without glass. **Q: Can this be used over chalk painted furniture as a wax varnish?** A: I mix cold wax with oil paint for art work and then apply the wax over the finished painting. I use a soft cloth to polish it after letting it dry. I think it could work over chalk in multiple coats and then polished but I have never tried that.
