Review: Great experience on the first try! - Before this one I've experienced only one other cup brand and it was a pretty basic bell shaped one that sells at a way lower cost. I took so much time researching cup info, reviews, and comparing cups.. (As well as how to measure my cervix. The knuckle rule is helpful 👀 !) I felt that with my cervix being on the lower side and having had a baby that this cup would work very well because the rim is apparently a bit larger than most/many others and the cup is a bit on the shorter side compared to others as well. Don't be fooled by that though, it can catch a flow! Pads and tampons just make it seem like we women leak way more than we do! Lol. With that said, though, it may not be the best option for anyone with a super heavy flow, but still could work for the lighter days 🤷🏻‍♀️ I do have my heavier days, but not so heavy. Anyway, upon first use I was highly satisfied that this cup was much more flexible than the first I'd tried (for easy insertion and removal!), it also has a bit of a dent on it for an easier folding process (mostly when removing it), and it's just firm enough at the rim for it to pop into place once inside. I even felt the pop & suction 👀 👌🏼, which was very satisfying and gave me instant assurance lol. Even so! I had bought myself some period underwear just in case. I'm a first-timer with such a thing haha, but lemme tell you it is worth getting yourself some of those just to feel extra comfortable and safe that in case of any possible leakage you know "you're covered." & if there's no leakage, they're still comfy for those red days 👍🏼 But! The days don't even feel red in this thing anyway bc the trash doesn't fill up with stinky wet ones and there's no leaky feeling down the butt cheeks :D JUST make sure you feel that suction and you're golden, but you gotta relax with it just like with putting in a tampon (& I learned that late in the game too 😗). If you've made it this far down my review, just wanna say I hope it's been helpful! I know there are many new to the cup life, such as myself. Just wanna also add that the tip is long enough to grip easily for removal and I appreciate the ridges on it for an easier grip as well (I avoid having my nails too long though 👀), but if you feel like it's too long you can cut it. All the best!
Review: No more tampons for me, I am sold on this cup! - This is my first menstrual cup and overall it has been a very positive experience with the Cora cup. I think the Cora cup was a great cup to use for a first timer. I did a lot of research and watched a lot of videos about others experiences with menstrual cups and doing so made me worried about the kind of horror stories I might have myself. Especially in terms of messy leaks. I was excited to try out a menstrual cup nonetheless. Cora was fantastic because they provide very clear instructions on how to use and insert cup, providing alternative methods of how to fold cup for insertion. I was able to get the cup in on the first try, which as much as I believe in my abilities, I was not expecting to be a success at this. The cup was incredibly comfortable, I couldn't even feel that it was in once inserted and suctioned on. Even better, no leaks. My biggest hurdle was removing the cup, that was slightly difficult. I blame this on my body more than the cup though. Like the insertion instructions, Cora provides detailed instructions on how to remove the cup. I was glad I read the instructions first, because they really have good pointers in terms of how to remove cup and what to do if you run into difficulties. The cup is designed well to allow ease in removable. There are nice grips on the stem and a nice finger grip at the base of the cup. I think I just have a high cervix so the cup drifted up a bit which made retrieving the stem a task in itself. But I followed the removal instructions and the tip provided for just this scenario and was able to remove and without making a horrible mess. I have used the cup for three menses to date and I am converted. I love this cup and don't see myself turning back to the days of tampons. I would recommend the Cora cup for menstrual cup beginners and veterans alike.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this cup apply pressure on the bladder as to restrict urine? .... Does it work well for exercise? .... How does it stay put when going #2?**
A: I really like the Cora cup. I don't think it applies any pressure. Now if I don't have it in just right, I feel pressure after awhile, but it isn't anything like restricting. Works amazing for exercise, and for #2 PERFECT! If you have to strain, I always take it out and put back in, just because I'm a worry freak like that. Happy with the Cora Cup!

**Q: How is this self emptying compared to a cup?**
A: Cups do not "self empty" because they require suction to stay in place and sit lower in the vaginal canal. To empty the cup, you must release the suction and take the cup out of your vagina. This can be inconvenient at times-- especially in a public restroom, or in places where you don't have access to a sink to clean/rinse your cup (camping, for example). Discs can empty without being fully removed-- we call this "self emptying."

Self emptying occurs when you are using the toilet and relax your pelvic floor muscles, (similar to when having a bowel movement). This will allow menstrual blood to empty into the toilet without removing the disc. To ensure your disc is properly back in place, use a clean finger to tuck it back behind your pubic bone.

Note that self emptying takes some practice! Once you're comfortable with using the disc, you can experiment with self emptying and see what works best for you.

**Q: does cup dry you out? First use Im dry aside from light flow.**
A: Hi there, great question! The disc does not dry you out like a tampon might since a cup collects, rather than absorbs, fluid. If you have having trouble inserting the disc, you can use a water-based lubricant. Hope this helps!

**Q: Does this come safety sealed?**
A: No, Cora disc is NOT tamper proof. I got one that included a hand written note saying “I’ve already been in a vagina”. I would have had no way of knowing that it had been used and returned if that person hadn’t left a note.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Its a no for me dog.
*by C***N on September 18, 2021*

I was a first time cup user attempting to reduce my plastic waste. I did A LOT of research and wanted to be sure I got something close to the right size and firmness for my body. Most of the articles, quizzes, and my own pouring over website information pointed me to the Cora cup. I'm very athletic, over 35, and haven't had any children. I got the smallest size. Insertion went fine, and I always had some trouble getting it to open. Then came the worst part... holy mother of God did this mofo HURT to remove. A glut for punishment, I tried removal in every way recommended - including in the shower - but it always felt like this cup was trying to take all of the tissue off my vaginal wall. So painful! After no less than 10 attempts, I finally gave up. I gave 4 stars because I do think this is an excellent option, it just didn't work for me. Turns out I have a very strong pelvic floor. Who knew? I ended up later purchasing a Hello. cup in extra small (the smallest on the market I think?) which was the right fit for me.
