Some residual adhesive was left behind (pulling off gently but firmly at an acute angle) - then a little Goo Gone here and there was useful in cleaning the residual on the rMBPro palm rest before returning to Apple for the "bigger" model. So I took it off, and bought another Palm Rest Cover for the new rMBPro. Perfect fit again. Very satisfied with this product - just take your time putting it on. I found that by perfectly aligning the center trackpad was the best way to start - I also left ON one side of the back liner paper and then gently applied the other side first; afterward, pulling the liner paper off and gently applying the remaining side. Perfect alignment. The product is as though Apple intended it to be there! Again, I omitted the trackpad cover, because it is glass and not prone to scratching - I'm not sure it really needs protection anyway. Thanks for reading this. PROS: Near exact color match to the aluminum slight metallic sheen like the macbook precision cut to the macbook pro fairly thick to absorb and future scratches high quality easy to apply easy to remove if you mess up feels great (although not as sexy smooth as the aluminum) CONS: (not really) Trackpad is too "matte" and I personally went without wasn't as responsive as bare trackpad edges are a little sharp (not enough to cut obviously) around the trackpad since im not using the trackpad cover (for now) since the skin is fairly thick, I assume they will round off with use DONT bend or crease it, the crease or blemish will never go away TIPS: Make sure you clean your macbook good before you apply. Line it up, and peel back one edge keeping the other side lined up and pull back while you apply slowly, perfect the first time. I chose not to use the trackpad but it lines up great and is exactly as described I just didnt like the feel of it. You be the judge. *TOP CASE sent me the wrong size (13 inch) and immediately sent me the right size after I emailed them with a photo no questions asked no returns! Buy with confidence! ### ⭐⭐⭐ ... old Mac Book Pro 15" (A1286) and it worked like a charm *by S***R on November 16, 2014* Purchased the older version of this product for my old Mac Book Pro 15" (A1286) and it worked like a charm. Then ordered this one for my new MBP (A1398)- the experience was totally different. The one for the old mac book (A1286) showed up perfectly. After unpacking it and lining it up, I didn't have it lined up quite right; so I pulled it up, and put it back without a problem. No issues- the adhesive was just sticky enough and now it looks flawless. The new one (A1398) showed up slightly damage (it had a 'dent' in the corner). But no biggie, it's meant to protect the laptop. I tried to put it down and the 'dent' caused the cover to not sit properly without a ton of air bubbles. So I tried to pull it back up and the little bit of the cover that was down was already stuck down like super glue. Trying to pull it up damaged it even more. Completely unlike the experience with the previous cover. Returned it and ordered another one. This one was undamaged but it still didn't go down right. This time I asked someone else to assist (cause yeah- it's that tricky trying to put it on). But it still got air bubbles and stretch marks. Best I can tell- the adhesive changed from the old version to the new; and it's changed for the worse. If you are REALLY careful and steady handed with the new one - you'll be fine. Don't be like me. The old one was very forgiving, this one not so much. That being said- the seller was great and sent item quickly and packaged it really well. Five stars to them. The manufacturer should do some more QC on the adhesive.
