The 7” are very compact and easy to use so it’s what I grab for most of the time. When I need more strength the 10” comes out, but sometimes you need to use the 10” and 12” to straighten or bend sheet metal. They are very versatile so having all 3 is a must. I had my gripes about them, but they were never a big deal so I just ignored them. But since buying these, I probably won’t go back. They don’t have the slack that channel locks develop. They don’t have that sloppy kind of feel. The pressure you can apply is great. I never have any slipping issues. I use mine daily when working on Sloan flushmates and things like that. To sum it up, can you complete the job with a cheaper alternative? Yes. 100%. Are these a good buy in the long term? In my opinion, absolutely. The price initially pissed me off, BUT after having and using them frequently, I get it.
