Review: A Total Game-Changer for Careful, DIY Car Detailing - I’ll admit—I was skeptical of this at first. A rinseless wash sounded like a recipe for swirl marks, especially on darker paint. But I’m very particular about how my vehicles are cared for, and after doing a deep dive into proper technique (and seeing how many serious detailers rely on this), I decided it was time to try it for myself. I detail my own vehicles whenever possible—most recently my black, new-to-me 2019 Sequoia—because I’ve seen firsthand what automatic car washes can do to paint. I’m also considering starting a mobile detailing business, so learning efficient, paint-safe systems like this really matters to me. Used correctly, this product is impressive. The solution is extremely slick, and with quality microfiber towels and light pressure, dirt lifts away far more easily than you’d expect. The key is good technique—working top to bottom, using clean towels frequently, and never scrubbing. Review: Excellent product, love the shine - I can tell you without a doubt that I am one of the biggest skeptics you'll ever meet and when I saw rinseless car wash in a forum for the first time I thought it had to be total bull. I am totally anal about my car finish and wouldn't be caught dead with my 13 WRX at an automatic car wash. There was just no way could I believe that you could wash a dry dirty car without scratching the paint without a proper rinse before and after. However after reading so many positive reviews and so few negative in blogs and product reviews and watching a couple of you tube videos, I figured it had to be worth trying. I have an apartment I rent and beach house I own, both with limited access areas and water to wash vehicles, so this would be worth it's weight in gold to me. I tested it out on my g/f's 2009 BMW first, it was filthy with dirt and some traces of salt from driving in the rain. I used a 2 bucket system, one rinse bucket and one wash bucket with 2 gallons of water to 1 oz of product as instructed. I used a decent microfiber mitt, and made sure I used light pressure and side to side movements and rinsed out the mitt thoroughly in between small areas once the mitt looked dirty. I did about 1/6 of the car at a time, drying each section I washed with a Cobra Waffle Towel, which worked wonderfully I might add, and I dried two cars with one towel before the end of the day and only wrung it out a few times. My drying towel stayed pretty clean through the process other than a few small areas due to carelessness on my part. Also the rise bucket was almost black with filth when I was done the body, and the wash bucket was very clean with only a few particles in it. Showing that the wash was doing it's job in cleaning and protecting the clear coat. The wheels were a real PITA to be honest, and they took more time than the rest of the car. BUT, they did turn out really sparkling clean once I got a system down. My technique with wheels was to use an old rag to first wipe off any loose residue on the tires and wheel wells. Next I dipped a soft wheel brush in solution to soak the wheel, tire and well, rinsing the brush in between each application. Next I would the use three small towels, to clean. One to clean the outside of the wheels, one for the inside of the wheel and the last for the the tire and wheel wells. I then used 2 old microfiber towels to dry, one for the outside wheel, and the other to dry the inside wheel, tire and wheel well. This worked well as it ensured that I never used a dirty towel on the wheels at any point, and using the dirty towel on the tire and well didn't cause any dirt. If there was any flaw to my strategy, it was getting tiny splashes of soapy water on the body around the wheel areas, which was easily corrected using by wiping it dry with a clean microfiber cloth after I completed each wheel. The BMW finish honestly looked better than it had the day we bought it (used). So I did my 2013 Subaru WRX with it after I gained some confidence, and had excellent results. Cleaning the wheels and tires is a real pain with this stuff, there's no two ways about it, yet it still only takes about an hour for each vehicle which is about the same time or less than I'd spend doing a normal wash. The finish is by far among the best I've seen, detail quality shine without using any polish. I'd highly recommend this to even the biggest skeptic or car detailing fanatic that has limited resources or area's to wash with a rinse. I'd also recommend it even if you do have access to water because it's better for the environment, more time efficient and just as cost effective as any rinsed product I've tried to date. It did not scratch my finish, or even get my drying towel dirty.

**Q: What are the instructions for use? Do you just spray it on with a spray bottle and let it sit/air dry?**
A: Here's what most pros do.
1.  Mix 2 cap-fulls of product in 2 gallons of water
2.  Soak several micro-fiber towels or The Big Red Sponge or a good quality micro fiber wash mitt
3.  Get a clean/empty spray bottle and fill it with your bucket of correctly mixed product
4.  Work from the top down, spray a coating on one area/panel at a time (ie half the top, half the hood, front door, etc.)
5. Wipe that area with your towel/sponge - use very light pressure as the ONR has polymers to effectively lift off and encapsulate the dirt while providing a lubricant.
6. Now dry that same area with a dry micro fiber towel.  The ONR will leave leave behind a light protective coating to help make this even easier for the following wash.
7. Repeat on other panels

This is so easy to use.  I find myself using it instead of conventional washes even when water is plentiful.  Also, a little goes a long way.  Measure 2 gallons on your bucket and that is more than enough to do a standard car (plus fill your spray bottle).

I often will just use the spray bottle to do quick detailing our touch-ups.  I use it you remove minor dust or a bird dropping.  This is great stuff!  Good luck and have fun!

**Q: Does this product remove wax each time you use it? Does it have detergent properties or does it leave a light coat of wax or polymer?**
A: It doesn't have "detergents" like one thinks of. It's hard to explain, but it has polymers in it that "encapsulate"dirt particles so they don't scratch when wiped off. It does not remove wax, nor does it leave anything behind. I am kind of picky about how I treat my paint. I have used this product I three ways:1- as labeled- a "no-rinse" wash (works well when vehicle is only superficially dirty/dusty).2- as a more traditional "wash & rinse" for regular car wash. Very gentile but does an excellent job, even for very dirty vehicles. 3- diluted according to directions as a spray detailer. Again, great product.

**Q: I live in socal (severe drought) if I were to use this, how many washes should I be able to do with a 32 oz bottle of ONR? I have a '14 genesis coupe.**
A: Meh, don't listen to any of them! Good, but narrow advice. Look up the "Garry Dean Wash Method". I use a 5-gallon bucket filled with 4 gallons of water, 2 oz of solution, and a ton of microfiber towels. I can get 10 or more washes out of each bucket using this method. Which means, a 32 oz bottle should last you 160 car washes. If you washed your car weekly, that would be 3 years per bottle. Or, get 32 washes like these guys.

**Q: would you say this is the best all around and economical product to use as a quick detail spray and clay lube concentrate?**
A: I've never clay lubed my vehicle, so, I can't say on that. I use mine in the garage during the winter. I spray first then wet a towel with the mixture and slowly wipe any grime off. For what I use it for it works. I like to keep my car clean but I don't go much farther then the average clean job. I don't full detail my car very often. Ultimately, I can't fully answer your questions, but I like the product. You only need a little per gallon. It's economical and gets the job done on winter grime. Hope that helps.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A new way to wash your car

I will start off by saying that I was skeptical of this product initially. If you're not familiar with what is different about this product from a traditional car wash soap, it is designed to be "rinseles," in that you dunk your wash cloth, wash mitt, or whatever you're using to wash your car, into the bucket and wipe the dirt off your car. The wet towel goes back into the bucket and you dry immediately with a separate towel. When I first heard about this, I didn't really think that it would be possible for a product like this to work without scratching the paint on your car. It just doesn't seem to make sense that you can take a wash mitt and wipe dirt off without having done an initial rinse to get the majority of the dirt particles off first. The product apparently has "polymers" in it that encapsulate the dirt and prevent scratching. I don't know if that's actually the case or how the chemistry of the product works, but after reading a lot of other reviews from people on auto-detailing forums, seeing testimonials from professional detailers, and seeing the results on cars such as Ferraris, Porsches, and Aston Martins, I figured that there has to be something to this. You literally just need a bucket and your wash mitt and drying towel. No hose necessary. And for someone who lives in an apartment complex, this is great. Also, you save water, which is an added benefit. You only use 2 gallons to fill the bucket as opposed to rinsing your car with who knows how many gallons of water. In addition to its "revolutionary" qualities, it's just a great car wash as well. It removes any dirt I've run into on my vehicle and leaves the car extremely shiny. If used correctly, it leaves no scratches or "swirl marks." And this is one area where I think a word of caution is appropriate. Do yourself a favor and buy a quality wash mitt and quality drying towel. Most of the stuff you can buy in auto stores is just not good and may do damage to your paint by leaving scratches. But if you spend a little bit of money on some nice towels, this product will work great for you. Also, I'd say don't scrub or apply a lot of pressure when wiping the dirt off. This goes for any car wash, but in most instances, simply swiping over the car panel will be sufficient. I'd also suggest wiping of an area slightly larger than you're going to dry, to prevent dirt from surrounding panels getting into your drying cloth. If you're using the product correctly, all the dirt will be encapsulated within the wash mitt and bucket, and your drying towel should remain completely clean. One of the touted benefits of this wash is that it saves time. This part of the product's benefits I have not really noticed. I find that it generally takes me the same amount of time to do my whole car. Ultimately, this is a great product, and it's worth a try. It's not only one of the best car washes I've used, it's also friendly to the environment.
