## Description

Blackmagic DeckLink Quad HDMI Recorder The DeckLink Quad HDMI Recorder is a high-performance 8-lane PCIe generation 3 capture card with data transfer rates of up to 32 Gb per second. Equipped with four separate HDMI 2.0b inputs for multi-channel recording, the DeckLink Quad HDMI Recorder card captures four different video streams at up to 60 frames per second. This allows you to record footage via each of the HDMI inputs in a different video standard or from a computer. You get four capture cards in one. The DeckLink Quad HDMI Recorder is inserted into an available PCIe slot and displayed on the host computer as four separate recording cards. With the Blackmagic Desktop Video Software Developer Kit (SDK) for Mac, Windows and Linux, software developers can select different HDMI channels for recording. This allows you to record different video streams simultaneously with different software applications. This makes the DeckLink Quad HDMI recorder card perfect for use with live streaming solutions, software production mixers, broadcast servers and more. For multi-channel recording, users can deploy different software applications such as vMix, Wirecast and OBS in any setup. For example, a card user using vMix can simultaneously capture signal input from two cameras, a computer and a game console, and then mix everything live and stream live on the Internet. However, the highlight is that the DeckLink Quad HDMI recorder card is designed for a single slot. This is ideal for use in low-profile rackmount servers found on many broadcasters in news departments, subscribers and data centers. The four HDMI 2.0b ports of the DeckLink Quad HDMI Recorder card allow high-quality video to be recorded in either 8 or 10-bit YUV, in 10 or 12-bit RGB up to 4K DCI 30p or in 8-bit RGB up to 4K DCI 60p. The DeckLink Quad HDMI Recorder Card even supports computers and game consoles in 8-bit RGB with resolutions up to 2560x1600 pixels.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Card having issues recognizing canon cameras? i have canon eos-r and 1dx mark 2 and it sees them only as 720i hdmi input and not at 1080p.**
A: The DeckLink card can only "see" what the camera is outputting over HDMI, so if getting SD video at capture card, that is what the camera is putting out. Need to check menu settings inside camera. Also, there is no 720i, you must mean 480i which is 720x480?

Check compatibility guides at Atomos for camera-specific tips for HDMI output:

https://www.atomos.com/cameras/canon-eos-r

https://www.atomos.com/cameras/canon-1dx-mark-ii

According to Atomos.com the EOS-R can output 4K over HDMI but not HD, that is strange.

**Q: Can I expect this to work in a Linux system?**
A: This item is compatible with Linux. Whether it will be suitable for your specific purpose is impossible to know. At this time (March 28, 2020), it is compatible with the following operating systems:

Mac 10.14 Mojave,
Mac 10.15 Catalina or later.
Windows 7, 8.1 and 10, all 64-bit.
Linux

**Q: Can this record a PS4 Pro at 4k60?**
A: yes

**Q: Is this a full size bracket or a low profile?**
A: Full size.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect 4K Streaming Capture Card!
*by on Reviewed in the United States September 16, 2020*

I stream here on Amazon Live everyday and I use this capture card for a dual PC set up! It works AMAZING! it also does 4k! It's better than the Magewell and wayyyy cheaper! Set up is a bit confusing though if you buy this card and need help setting it up come join my stream and I'll help walk you through the set up. You have to go to their website and finding the drivers is not so easy but after about an hour I was able to find the drivers and get it all set up and ready to go! I use all four ports of the capture card one for my Camera, Nintendo Switch, Gaming PC and PS4 and stream using OBS! It captures perfectly and is able to take my Gaming PC and put our crisp quality! I haven't seen many streamers review this product but I highly recommend it for streaming if you need more than 1 HDMI port! Like I said if you have any questions about this product, capture cards, building PCs, Gaming or tech! Check out my Amazon Live streams! I would love to help the best I can! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well in Mac Pro 7,1
*by on Reviewed in the United States January 28, 2021*

I've had this card installed in my Mac Pro 7,1 for about 9 months now. I consistently use 3 ports, with the 4th port used every once in a while. It handles it all well, and keeps the HDMI displays active at all times, which eliminates the black screen you would get when switching between inputs.BMD is a great company that has for years made high quality, accessible gear for surprisingly low prices. Similar cards from competitors are around $800-$1000, some of which aren't even 4K compatible.I do wish there was some type of strain relief for the HDMI cables as I frequently have to move my Mac Pro tower and I'm increasingly concerned about the stress being put on the input ports by the large, heavy HDMI cables. All in all, this is a great card.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Freedom from MAC extensibility limitations. This works great on my new PC Workstation.
*by on Reviewed in the United States June 16, 2023*

Don't mess around with Thunderbolt docs and capture card catastrophes. These things have a beautiful picture and move a lot of data. I didn't find any other quad cards that were PCIe 3.0 and 8 PCIe lanes. Everything else is PCIe 2 or 1 and 4 lanes. This blows away all the current capture cards on the market. I spent 9 months dealing with all this, and was misinformed that these are PCIe 2.0, and 4 lanes. So, I didn't have them in the running. I was looking at Yuan, etc. Then I just came across the specs one day, going back over everything. What a fricking find. Good for action sstraight to computer recording / streaming. Buy without fear if you use a PC.
