The mats offer an excellent resistance to oil, grease and most solvents, and are lighter than our single and three layer mats. Review: Nice mat, but effectively useless - This would be a very nice mat but even after two weeks I could not get it to cease outgassing. It seems that some buyers do not report the terrible outgasing (butyl rubber smell) so I took a chance. The mat is being cut to pieces and put into the dumpster. I scrubbed it with detergent several times, used 98% isopropyl to scrub and soak, literally soaked it in detergent solutions for days, and no joy. Not sure why only two others made comment about the outgassing. Maybe there's a problem with quality control. It would cost me more in gasoline and driving time to return it to desertcart than to discard it. I gave it five stars for total crap because some of my one-star reviews are not posted by desertcart.
