Great for communicating basic everyday language, but you lose accuracy with more technical terms. I have used it for 7 languages thus far and was impressed with its utility. You must speak slow and in short sentences in order for the translator to pick up what is being said. I like the fact it has a currency exchange function which will be very helpful when I travel. Device works with wifi and hotspot from your phone.The camera translation is really slow in translating words and not that accurate, it is not dynamic like google translate. Being that this is my first translation device I am impressed but would like an upgrade with the following:- a male voice- more time to talk like google translate, the limitation on speaking into the microphone makes one have to rush in conversation, also you have to speak slowly so a lot less is being said making conversations somewhat mechanic oppose to natural- dynamic camera translation- more than Chinese to English offline for English speakers (French, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish should be included)- Longer battery life when not using the device ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not quite there but has promise. *by J***. on Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2019* Well I had solid hopes for this device assisting me thru Italy but sadly it didnt. Fortunately I wasnt relying on this completely as I know a fair bit of Italian I was more, hoping to help broaden conversations beyond what I already know. The device does work well when paired to wifi but getting a wi fi password isnt always easy. I tried to connect to my wifes cell phone has it has a hotspot BUT you have to reconnect every dang time you want to use it and even then it was spotty at best maybe I needed to hold the phone under the translator and not be 5 feet away shesh. The device works great here in the US at my home where I know the password but in the real world its a dud. I wish I could recommend this for travel but I simply can not I even had several (3-4) friends of mine ask me how the translator worked and had to tell them "it didnt." Siri worked better for short words. I wish I could leave a better review but giving this a 2-2.5 rating. Usually, language won't be a big barrier for me except when ordering food in foreign restaurants, I always have to make choices by looking at the menu pictures and many times I ordered the wrong thing... The coolest thing about this translator is that it can help you understand a menu almost immediately by taking a picture. I've tried several times, though sometimes there will be a few words translated incorrectly but it won't affect much.
