Then I bought these and wow! Bright, loud, and hold tune once they are stretched properly. I have been using them for a while now and they still sound great and I haven't snapped a string yet. Review: Great for really old banjo ukes - These were for an antique banjolele restoration job, already had super nylguts on my other uke, easy choice. They play and sound great. These particular strings are supposed to sound warmer than the other Aquila banjo ukulele strings, probably a good thing for these little old models as they tend to sound kinda dinky. Can't say the old girl sounds like a million bucks (never really did, nice uke however), more like 8 or 9 hundred grand though, basically these strings make it sound as good as it possibly can and I love the tone very much, no way it ever sounded this good before, more of a lower end than I expected. These take several days to break in and hold their tune well.
