I got a 2005 Jeep Wrangler 4.0l with 73,235 miles on it and horribly loud lifter tick...did an oil change with a Motor Medic: Motor Flush treatment. Lot of grit in oil and very dirty...lifter tick was noticeably a little softer but still pretty bad especially toward rearmost lifter...another oil change 3,000 miles later with another Motor Medic: Motor Flush treatment but no change in bad tick so decided I just needed to replace the lifters...3,000 miles later I change the lifters, push rods, rocker arms, bridges, valve cover gasket, head gasket and exhaust/intake manifold gasket... First start up all lifter tick is gone except the very back one (cylinder 6)...I was very befuddled... Finally decided maybe an oil galley that feeds the lifter is clogged up and not getting proper oil pressure to the lifter....3,500 miles later I did another oil change but this time ran the BG restore cleaner first just as the directions listed and added the BG oil stabilizer in with the new oil...on first start up, NO TICKING!!!...I drove it around for next 30 minutes and no more lifter tick at all! Try to run out most of that fuel before refilling. Let's see if I can get the other two correct-I BELIEVE the EPR gets added to your oil prior to changing. Run the engine about 5 minutes then drain. Upon refilling the crankcase oil. add the MOA and you are all done! BTW-unless you have some serious issues, you should notice some performance improvement depending on the mileage. I sold this stuff 20 years ago as a service advisor and I still use it (and pay full price now). **Q: How often should i use these?** A: The MOA is meant to be added at every oil change. BG recommends using 44k at every oil change. EPR needs to be used right before the oil is changed. To get the full protection, MOA needs to be used every time the oil is changed. Some people only use 44K and EPR when they have an issue they think it might help with. Completely Stopped Excessive Oil Consumption in High Mileage Vehicle *by P***R on August 5, 2024* At 160,000 miles, my Honda CR-V started burning oil. It began losing a quart every 5,000 miles and gradually got worse. There were no leaks or oil coming out of the exhaust. I changed the PCV valve but it didn't help. By the time the car hit 185,000 miles, it was burning a quart every 500 miles and I was about to get rid of it. I took the car to a new mechanic who suggested trying an oil change with the BG EPR cleaner followed by the MOA additive After 500 miles, it was down only 1/2 quart -- same for the next 500 miles, the next, and the next. This was a decent improvement and I was happy with the results.....but still losing a quart every 1,000 miles. THEN, 3,000 MILES AFTER DOING THE BG OIL CHANGE, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY STOPPED CONSUMING ANY OIL! I haven't had to a drop in over 1,500 miles! I didn't do anything else to the vehicle and my driving habits didn't change so I attribute this to the BG products. I'm now going to use them at every oil change.
