All I had were the old metal utility knives and they were in a box. A nice neighbor lent me his and what a difference, so I ordered one too - it's so easy to use. The blades are all attached and can be broken off when they aren't sharp anymore. But after opening all those 'hundreds' of cartons, I'm still on the original one. The blade retracts very easily too.
