Took a small amount of force to move them across thier slides but after breaking them loose they have operated fine. I tested each of them against Starrets and they are just as accurate as those. I would image they should last as long as you take care of them. They came individually wrapped inside some sort of waxed paper within the case. I intend to put them back in the wax paper each time when I'm done using them in hopes that this will prevent any rust issues.
