The plastic is lighter than the OEM version. Front and back are perfectly interchangeable with the OEM. I snapped my good backing on to the new front with an exact fit. The buttons on this unit are all silicone and soft. I was grateful to stumble upon this.As others have suggested, I took the original buttons (as they are sturdier) and put them into the new case along with its circuit board..snapped the 2 pieces together...and went to my car to test it out. Works perfectly!!
