The product will store for two years without any major decrease in viability. If you are looking for an inoculant for plants in the legume family like beans then you may be looking for rhizobium. That is the bacteria that works with the roots of the plant and forms nodules that help with nitrogen fixation which is beneficial for the plant and your soil. In order for this to work they must come in contact with the roots. Once you pull the plant they die.I chose this over fertilizer and I am real glad I did. My plants have been so much healthier. I even use the Mycorrhizae when I am transplanting. This stuff goes a long ways. Just a pinch and your good. Usually I dig the hole and sprinkle it all over the hole. A light sprinkle. I don't go overboard. Then I make sure that a portion of the roots are sticking out so it will come in contact with the Mycorrhizae. I then plant and water the soil. **Q: Can I use it for orchids ?** A: Orchids use only certain mycorrhizae specific to orchids. You should try to find orchid-specific BASIDIOMYCETES FUNGI mycorrhizae and not waste money on mycorrhizal strains that orchids cannot use. Seedlings rooted fast....clones rooted MUCH faster than normal, so I call that a win! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Grow roots.....GROW *by Z***A on July 10, 2016* This stuff is similar to Mycofusion, which just so happens to be the industry standard in myco. Sadly it is overpriced IMHO. I have used it in different situations and need to find an alternative. This stuff is a bit bigger granular wise. Like the difference between table salt and coarse salt. I grow different things not just "medicine". I have a quaint little lemon tree Im growing before I transplant it outdoors. When going from small seedling to a bigger container/pot I dust the rootball and the hole the plant is to go in. I thought the bigger specs might be a problem but not for my living soil (microbes). It does appear to keep the soil healthier and in need of less other amendments. I toss some into my compost bin before it is supposed to rain. As I am very new to making my own compost, I can not say if that is helpful or not. It did give a larger yield from my first planting of potatoes this year.
