I drilled a pilot hole and installed 3/16 inch eyelets into the wood blocking under the eaves. For now I’m using the fabric ties that came with the sunshade. Maybe someday in the future I might install turnbuckles. But for now I plan to keep this up just during the summer months. Spring winter and fall are very comfortable, and the sun sits lower so it’s not as hot. But June through September will be the right time of year to put this up. It will not break on you. It will last for a long period of time. Hopefully a couple years. The material is a strong polyester and the sun protection is a medium just because a lot of sun still does get in. It doesn’t fully protect you from the sun cause it is ment for shade putting it up was very easy. You just have to attach the bracket to something sturdy that won’t move and hang it and thickness of the material is better than average.
