'The Calculus Story' by David Acheson introduces a core mathematical subject in a most readable fashion with beautifully simple diagrams and small paragraphs.The central ideas like limit, infinity, the infinitesimally small, and convergence are illustrated with striking examples.There are brief yet lucid discussions on the applications from the everyday experience to the esoteric quantum mechanics.Finally, there is the story about who actually invented calculus: Newton or Leibniz.The special thing about the book is it can be read by someone with little or no mathematical ground and at the same time it gives the advanced students too a handy recap.Bonus: You get to know the most beautiful mathematical equation ever!
