Does that mean two 40x12 pallets, or does it mean four 40x12 pallets.** A: It's two 12" x 40" Pieces that you lock together making a 24" x 40" pallet. A standard wood pallet is 48" x 40" so you would need two Packs, four total Pieces, to make one standard pallet. They worked great and are perfect for shipping internationally because they're plastic. I would caution you about possible breakdown from extended sun exposure. **Q: How much area is in contact with the floor underneath one of these pallets?** A: It's an open design underneath. Each unit has a total of 6 "contact" points. **Q: I don't think these were designed to be used with forklifts, because they flex too much. Right?** A: I don't use them with a forklift, but I don't think there would be a problem using one on these.
