In the industrial version, it's called Dual Lock, and comes in three different strengths/densities (170, 250, 400); this is the 250 version. There is also a "low profile" version, but this is the normal profile stuff. The three densities are designed to work with each other in various combinations to give you the particular combination or strength/releasability that suits you application best, but 3M does not recommend 170/170 (too weak) or 400/400 (too dense), so you can select 170/250 (lightest strength), 170/400, 250/250 (medium strength), or 250/400 (strongest). If you need to affix something to a surface semi-permanently, this stuff is absolutely amazing, and it is the only thing I will use to build my effects pedalboards for electric guitar and bass guitar. 250/250 holds so strongly that with only a few square inches of bonding, you actually need to get a small prybar to get it to release (unless you use very small pieces of it), and the adhesive holds with incredible tenacity, yet still removes cleanly from painted metal surfaces when you need to remove it.
