Review: It's like a Coach bag, it sells itself - I bought this speaker 3-4 yrs ago because all my friends had some sort of portable speaker and frankly, I wanted to be part of the hype. I have not regretted my purchase since. This speaker has been through everything. It's been left out in the rain overnight (accident), been paddleboarding, hiking, showering, carpooling, slumber party-ing, you name it. I've played it til it's dead nearly every single time, and it still holds a charge like new. I can let it play all day and it'll last a week or two, sometimes a month if I'm using it irregularly. The only sign of wear I've noticed is the screw on the hinge of the clip peeking out a bit. However, for everything's it's been through, I find that reasonable. It doesn't effect the clip's function at all. Nothing about the product description is false. It's waterproof. It clips. It connects. It plays. It charges. It helps you survive break-ups. It grips. No seriously, it grips. It got left on the top of my car and it was still there after a mile downhill of windy mountain roads. The only thing it hasn't really been exposed to is a lot of dust. I haven't heard how riders like it, but I know a covered arena is a death sentence for most Bluetooth speakers. Can't say for sure how Clip 3 holds up against that simply because it's never been. I've had a couple of people over the years complain that it didn't have enough bass but like???? It's the size of my hand?? The bass and volume is honestly great for its size and purpose, if you want something with more oomph and kapow then you should be looking for a different product. This speaker does what it does and it does it WELL. My friends bought one around the same time and it's been just as consistent and reliable with the same treatment. I also have a friend with the Clip 5 (which I've heard addresses some customer complaints with Clip 3), and they've had a great experience as well. I haven't noticed much difference between the editions and honestly, Clip 3 is the OG for me. I can't complain, I can only love it. Clip 3 has been by my side longer than some food trucks have been open. Clip 3 has dinner on the table for me when I get home. When I fell off my longboard and chickened out of getting back on, Clip 3 was on my belt loop for the walk of shame back to my apartment. If this speaker ever dies, I'm sending it out in a boat with trophies from its battles and then lighting it on fire for a proper warrior's funeral. And then I'm dusting it off and turning it back on.

**Q: Does anyone else have an issue of the distance between the phone and this speaker? The one I received only goes about a foot?**
A: I get about 30'/10 meters from phone or car stereo outside unobstructed and about 20'/7 meters when one device is inside and one is outside. I hate to ask the obvious, but sometimes I myself don't do the obvious when it comes to troubleshooting: But have you tried removing device from connection list and paring again so you get another channel?

**Q: Can this speaker play softly enough to be appropriate in an office/cubicle setting?**
A: Your best option would be shokz headphones for a setting like that. It allows you to play music but still hear when people talk to you

**Q: Does this speaker require an app to setup?**
A: No just pair via Bluetooth

**Q: My jbl clip so far can't seem to pair with my old mac book pro, which is almost 10 years old. could age of the mac book be the problem?**
A: One reason why our Clip 3 is not connecting to your Macbook Pro would be the drivers of your laptop is not updated. 
You must get the latest driver version available for your Computer/PC/Laptop.
To download the correct driver (software), visit the manufacturer's website of your Computer/PC/Laptop. They usually have a "Support/Download" section where you can find the correct driver. Otherwise, contact their support.

This little speaker packs a punch Its loud and connects effortlessly. It has ability to hard wire AUX which is convenient for us synth enthusiasts. Sand or water cant penetrate the speaker at all. Very solid. Would buy again.
