Again, this makes it less likely to lose chips and easier to clean up the game. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Chip Holder Allows For Chips To Slip Out...Great for Fine Motor though... *by A***I on June 26, 2017* Our son was first introduced to connect 4 while working with his most recent speech therapist, who was a gentle, lovely, patient person that we're definitely going to miss seeing every week, and I'm probably going to think of her every single time I look at this thing. I bought this to continue working on turn taking with our son, which was an area she was targeting as well, and to progress some of his fine motor targets (I purchased this knowing the chips would be smaller then the traditional connect 4). At this time, developmentally, he couldn't possibly care less about the actual game component of it, so when we play with it at this time we're just taking turns putting in the chips. So, the chips are roughly half an inch in diameter. So they're small...and he blew me away that he had no problem putting them in first time out. So I was thinking...well, maybe we aren't going to need this for anything fine motor after all. Until we got to the part where I loaded them up in the chip holders/dispensers. Getting them out of there is definitely a fine motor challenge for him, to the point where he was actually shaking his head no at me every time I asked him to try and pull one out. While we're on the topic of the chip holder, I'd like to direct your attention to the picture I took of it. My one and only criticism of this product is that there isn't anything to make sure the chips don't slip out of it. I think this product would be improved greatly if it had a sliding cover for that end of it. Because structurally, storing this product upside down would put more stress that could lead to breakage along the top portion of the game, and that's the only way to decrease the risk of chips falling out. Keeping it in the box takes up more space, and they can still slide out as it slips around the box. And let's assume you're purchasing this for travel, you probably don't want to take the box because it more then doubles how much space this will take up in your luggage, etc. So that's just something to be aware of.
