Review: Still works years later - I have been using this keyboard for about four years now, and it has worked reliably the entire time. I honestly do not have any major pros or cons to point out. It still works exactly as it did when I first bought it. At one point I even spilled something on it. I immediately turned it off, flipped it upside down, and let it air dry for a day or two. After that, it had no issues at all. I do not use any of the advanced or specialty features. I do not care much about lighting beyond having enough backlight to see the keys, and it does that just fine. There is nothing about it that feels annoying or unnecessary in day-to-day use. One feature I really appreciate is the USB pass-through. I plug my wireless mouse receiver into the keyboard, then connect the keyboard to my computer or KVM. That makes cable management much simpler since I only have to deal with the keyboard cable. With the wrist rest removed, the keyboard is fairly compact and easy to fit on a desk. The wrist rest itself is very comfortable when I do use it, so it is nice to have the option. I am not a keyboard expert, so I cannot speak to high-end performance details. What I wanted was a reasonably priced keyboard that would last and not fail after a short time. After four years of use, it has done exactly that. I have no complaints
Review: Amazing keyboard if you can ignore the software flaws - I got the red switches and while this is a super loud keyboard, it feels very smooth to type on and very responsive, id maybe suggest at least brown though as resting your hand on this will trigger keys due to the low weight needed. the arm rest is weirdly soft feeling even though its solid and the 2nd usb pass through is nice for attaching mice. the rgb is a bit finicky but love that its per key. the little monitor is great for displaying cpu/gpu temps in an easy to spot area

**Q: Anyone go from a corsair board to this? Thoughts on comparison mainly from the k95 platinum or k70 mk2 to this apex 7 both with brown switches? thanks**
A: The top of the Apex 7 is plastic (despite being advertised as "aircraft grade aluminum") so it feels cheaper. The customization software is far more intuitive than iCUE and the board can handle 15 hardware effects instead of the 5 on the K95 Platinum or K70 Mk.2 (but it also can't do more via software like the Corsair). No RGB logo/lightbar or dedicated media keys, but instead you get an OLED screen and can still access media keys via the roller and button (the roller clicks down too).

**Q: What's the oled display for? i have been using the keyboard for a week now, and the oled displays nothing but its logo.**
A: You can add different gifs or pictures to the display, it’s also there to navigate different keyboard lighting settings, etc.

**Q: Is the Palm rest removable?**
A: Yes it is removable

**Q: Can this keyboard be connected to more than one computer at a time?**
A: Yes, but you'll probably need a KVM switch or something along those lines that lets you toggle input from one computer to the next.

I was torn between the Apex 7 and Pro... Pro is very hard to get since it seems to be sold out everywhere. Decided to get the 7 and overall I'm really happy. This board is top of the line. SteelSeries is back in the keyboard game.. book it. My SteelSeries steup is now complete.. I have the arctis 7, rival 600, and now the Apex 7. As mentioned in the reviews this keyboard uses gateron red switches. This switch is butter smooth and the noise this keyboard puts out is very nice.. not too loud like other mech keyboards. I was really hoping that they would come out with a good keyboard since I have been rocking the K70 for some time now. This board checks all that you expect from a top of the line keyboard but with some cool addons.
