Missouri MeerschaumMacArthur Classic Corn Cob Tobacco Pipe - Natural, Straight Bit

This is a great pipe for longer sessions. Almost novelty in appearance but like all Missouri Meerchaum pipes this is an excellent smoker. The only drawback if you consider it a drawback is the fact that it uses a lot of tobacco because of its size. I don't necessarily even see this as a drawback as much as I just recognize that this is a large pipe for longer sessions. It smokes cool because of it large size and long stem, it looks cool because of Douglas MacArthur, and is a great pipe for the collection. I highly recommend this pipe.

Bring a LARGE amount of tabbaco. This pipe is just plain huge ! I packed almost a 2/3 oz of tabbaco into the bowl, had to use a pipe tool, simply because my finger can't touch bottom. Another downside is the fact you can hardly see the bowl when you light it, simply because the top of the bowl is at your brow level. It's a good thing I have short hair otherwise I'd burn my hair. The stem is a little flimsy thanks to the fact the bowl weighs literally as much as a 2/3 ear of corn.Other than those negative things, it functions as a great pipe, if you can see through the haze of smoke.All in all I'd buy another one, purely based on the fact you look just like Gen. MacArthur stepping off a landing craft when you walk around with this. To quote my own mother "You look like you've got a youth size putter in your mouth !"

My son wanted to add this to his pipe collection, so I was pleased to find it for a great price on Amazon. It arrived quickly and in great shape. I don’t know anything about pipes, but he was happy — I will say, it was much bigger than I realized, probably twice the size of a regular corncob pipe.

Pros: Essentially an entire corn cob, hollowed out.Looks cool.Smokes awesome.Cons: Scares the neighbors.

Stem too small for common 6mm filters;cob bowl has 2 small cracks at top, one of which extends more than 1/2 way through the thickness of the cob bowl;and finally, the cob bowl is so heavy it makes my jaw muscles ache from constant hard clamping force needed to keep pipe held between teeth.Returning tomorrow if allowed to.

A great pipe for the price. Outside is rough-finished but that doesn't affect smoking. The bit is a teensy bit loose. If you like MacArthur style pipes or want to try one, this is a great choice that won't break the bank.

The bowl inside diameter is fairly small, especially for how deep it is. It does work, but the tobacco is flavored by the corn cob.

This one could use a premium finish as the bent one. It looks as if its not going to last long. Hope Im wrong.
