Electric waffle makers never gave me what I wanted in a waffle, and they were always hard to clean. This cast iron waffle maker is a dream come true.I seasoned the waffle maker very well before using it. The first few waffles you make may stick, but the more you use it the less they will stick. To make the waffles, I heat the pan over medium heat, flip it over to heat the other side, open it and brush on a mixture of melted butter and oil, portion the batter, close it, flip it again, and cook for 1 and a half on bother sides. That is what works for me. The waffles are perfect and crispy on the edges.
