It worth the money Review: Convenient & Tasty Shortcut Adding Traditional Taste - Tomatillos have a tart, slightly cirtusy flavor which works well in pork and chicken dishes in particular. Here are a couple of my quick and easy recipes showing how to do this. I combine 1 drained can of La Costena Tomatillos with 1 Cup of chicken broth, 1/2 Cup chopped onions, 1/2 teaspoon cumin and 1/4 teaspoon Mexican oregano in a large saucepan over medium heat. Mash the whole tomatillos a little bit. At this point you can reduce the sauce by half, stirring occasional 10-15 minutes then adding 2 to 3 Cups of cooked, shredded chicken, such as rotissere style. Let that blend a few minutes and serve as a filling for tacos, enchiladas or tamales. Since the tomatillos are not spicy you can add spices or salsa to your preferred heat level. For pork chili verde I make the same recipe as above, not reducing the sauce but adding 2 to 3 Cups cubed roast pork shoulder instead of chicken and 2 Cups green enchilada sauce. Allow this mixture to simmer 20 minutes and serve over rice, with beans and corn tortillas on the side.
