Thanks.** A: You get 2 trays with lids, I use ward water on the bottom of the tray to help release the cubes then face down and press, it won't work if you over fill the cubes ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The sides and lid are solid, tye bottom is flexible and makes popping out so easy *by C***Y on 28 April 2022* I wanted solid ice cube trays, not my favourite idea, but having struggled with the mess the all silicone trays leave in my freezer and the difficulty moving the small silicone trays when filled, drove me to distraction.I found these, and thought I would try as they seemed to offer the best of both but wasn't sure.I am so glad I bought these, they are so easy to use.So, although the bottom is flexible, it doesn't affect the stability of the ice cube trays as I had feared, at all.The bottom flexible bit and s just a thin layer at the very bottom, the rest of the tray, and also importantly the lids, are solid.This means when you fill them up, you can easily, without any spillage , no leakage, no twisting, transfer them to your freezer.The lid is important to keep the contents from contaminating, or being contaminated by, any other foods in the freezer ( I cook a lot of strong flavours, and my wibbly wobly all silicone ice cube trays not only leaked, but because their lid was a jelly like substance it never stayed in place and often let my mango ice cubes end up tasting like garlic).The other good thing is, because of the way the tray is designed, it has non continuous raised area at the very top, meaning you cannot easily overfill your trays, simply fill untill the little cubes are full, when you go too far tye extra moves between the raised areas warning you you have gone too far, simply tilt slightly to allow the excess to run off into the other cube slots. This allows for expansion.When the lid is on, it makes a solid click in place meaning you can hold it full one handed and use the other hand to open the freezer.As it is now a solid piece you can easily stack them on top of each other without squishing out the contents of the tray below, another thing that happens with my old all silicone trays ( have repurposed the old all silicone trays as seed trays, never going in my freezer again).When you want to remove the frozen cubes, simply Popp the lid off, which although solid , and even with daily use, hasn't cracked, (which some previous ones did, I don't think they used freezer safe plastic in those, they were with my all solid plastic trays, all of which shattered in one way or another)Once the lid is off, pick the cube or cubes you want to remove and simply push on the flexible bottom of that cube, it pops right out, no fuss at all.I freeze all sorts in ice cube trays, rarely ice, from fruit puree, fruit juices, stock, extracts ( like tamarind, I never use a whole block at once but when open it goes off quickly, so I just prepare the liquor extract and freeze it)I also freeze some cubes just to add to smoothies, lime juice, avocado pureed, ginger juiced, etc.Ice cube trays can be really useful, but some types can be really hard work and super messy.So far these are great.I bought the pack of 4, which gave me 2 white trays with blue bottoms and 2 white trays with green bottoms.The kids are smooth and completely clear, and you can write on them with a marker if you want, but it is really easy to see what is inside from the top, and because they are solid ( with flexible bottoms) even if you stack them on top of each other as I do, it is easy to slide them out to check which ones you want.Very happy so far.Once I clear some space in my freezer I will probably be back for more.Little tip, if you like fruit sorbet, but you don't have an ice cream maker or tye hours that takes...Puree some fruit, or buy baby puree or tinned puree, for this example you can buy mango puree in a big tin from most supermarkets...pour it in your ice cube trays & freeze , then when you want the sorbet( let's Imagine we are having some sunshine in the UK) , take 5-6 cubes per adult, juice of 1 lime ( if you like it zingy, or 1/2 lime , which can be frozen too) and 2 tablespoons of water( not chilled) Pop it in a blender ( a smoothie maker works too) and Blitz for 30-60 seconds, voilà, silky smooth sweet sorbet without preservatives, without tonnes of added sugar, and apart from the freezing, just 60 seconds away whenever you want it, all thanks to little ice cube trays. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally! Ice cube trays that are easy to use *by C***Y on 5 October 2022* These trays are great. I've had all-silicon trays before and it's murder to get the cubes out. These are awesome because it's only the bottom that is silicon, so you just push the cubes out.AS LONG AS YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS (which specifically say not to twist or bend the tray, which is probably where all those people who gave 1 star reviews saying the tray broke went wrong) they work well. It's far easier to remove the cubes if you follow the instructions and put the tray in a shallow dish of hot tap water for 20 seconds or so (that just loosens the ice cubes from the bottom of the tray so they pop out easily). I then pop them all out into a plastic bag that lives in the freezer and I can use the trays again right away to make more cubes.The lid probably wouldn't stop the water spilling out if you tipped the tray dramatically, but it has certainly stopped it from dripping as I put it into the freezer drawer (even if I have to angle it a bit to get it in). And of course the lid will stop crumbs and stuff getting into your ice if you keep the trays in the freezer for a while before getting the ice out. The lid can be a little tricky to get off the first time, but it soon eases up a bit.All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good ice cube trays *by E***L on 27 March 2024* They do the job. The lids are a bit difficult to get off but you only really need them if you're stacking the ice cube trays. The ice comes out easily enough if you follow the instructions of sitting the trays in some hot water.
